About Wimbledon Acupuncture & Herbs
Acupuncture is a therapy used within the context of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which also includes herbal medicine, dietetics, massage (tuina), and qi gong. In China acupuncture and TCM generally are used to treat most types of health problems, either in isolation or in combination with Western medicine. Acupuncture is a holistic therapy that can address health problems by looking at the whole person (mind, body, emotions), and their lifestyle, within the context of the environment within which they live.

I originally began my training as a complementary therapist in 1987, qualifying as a medical herbalist from the School of Herbal Medicine in Sussex in 1991 and set up practice in Wimbledon. In 1994 I began studying acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and qualified as an acupuncturist in 1997. I am a member of both the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the British Acupuncture Council and have been in practice now for 26 years.

Area of Specialisation
Since starting to practice acupuncture I have been specialising in the treatment of fertility and pregnancy. In 2005 I began to work in association with Dr. Geeta Nargund, one of the UK’s leading fertility experts and pioneer of natural IVF, treating couples undergoing IVF from her fertility clinics, simultaneously with acupuncture.

Richard is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) and Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN).
